Travel to the Republic of Montenegro. Head to the mouth of the beautiful Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Enjoy a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, one of two islets off the coast of Perast. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest building on the islet, with a museum attached to it. Upon return to the coast, we will stop in Perast, an old charming coastal town. Visit the city of Kotor before returning to Dubrovnik. (B)
A walking tour takes you to the highlights of Old Dubrovnik. See the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and Sponza Palace. Next, view the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own, shop, stroll along the water’s edge, or simply relax and savor your superbly scenic surroundings. (B)
After breakfast, we leave to Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Here, view the remains of the Turkish quarter and the reconstructed 16th-century stone bridge. Continue to Split for embarkation. Settle in your cabin. Dinner aboard. (B, D)
Morning walking tour of Split, featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral. A short sail to Hvar, Croatia’s sunniest island. Hvar is a favorite holiday destination for international celebrities and yachters; thus, beyond all the glitz and glamour, Hvar town is a charming seaside resort with 8 centuries of architecture waiting to be explored. On a walking tour, breathe in the pine-scented breeze, as you absorb vistas of the old town with the picturesque little streets and the first public theatre in Europe. Evening arrival to Vis. (B, L)
After breakfast, our tour of Vis will feature the town’s waterfront. Sail on to Sibenik and take a walking tour featuring the city’s fortification and defense system, which resisted the enemies for centuries. Overnight. (B, L)
Enjoy the scenic wonderlands of Kornati National Park, home to more than 140 islands with numerous coves and crystal clear waters. Stop for a swim during your lunchtime cruise. Arrival to Zadar, a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. (B, L)
After breakfast, walking tour of Zadar historical center to admire the 16th century Port Gate where the Venetian lion still guards the entrance, the Square of the Five Wells, Church of St. Donat, the Roman Forum and the largest cathedral in Dalmatia, St. Anastasia. Later on, we set our compass north, with a stop for swimming in one of the small islands. Lunch aboard, while continuing our journey towards Rab Island, famous for its 30 sandy beaches. Tonight, we will dine in the restaurant “Kamenjak” located on the highest point of the island offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the islands: Pag, Krk, Cres, and Losinj. (B, L, D)
Leave Rab and head to Goli Otok, to visit a somber memorial to the recent history. It was a prison camp where Yugoslavian political prisoners were incarcerated in order to change their political views. Sail on to Krk, the largest of the Croatian islands. Captain’s dinner with live entertainment aboard our ship tonight. (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will board a motorcoach and visit Vrbnik, a picturesque village located on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Return to your ship and continue our cruise to Rijeka. Afternoon tour of Rijeka featuring major sites. Evening at leisure. (B, L)
